There is beautiful synergy between frankincense resin and the zingy sweetness of cardamom – both materials complement one another with dazzling effect and create an accord that is greater than the sum of its parts. An exotic heart of the finest rose absolute and humid ylang-ylang mingle with the dryness of vetiver root. To complete JIONI, a dried fruit note of fir balsam adds both complexity and richness.

I loved how, at nightfall, the heavy aromas of hot days were replaced by gentle wisps of cooler air filled with the scent of nighttime blooms, rose water sweets, and incense smoke curling out from darkened alleyways. JIONI, which means ‘in the evening’ in Swahili, is our modern homage to this magical time of day in the Southern hemisphere.”
