Highly palatable complementary food in oral suspension for dogs and cats, recommended for dogs and cats of all breeds and ages. Medicinal mushrooms are prebiotics, they induce changes in the intestinal microbiota or flora and contribute to digestive wellbeing. The balance of the microbiota is essential in the prevention and improvement of diseases, not only in gastrointestinal pathologies but in multiple pathologies.

INDICATIONS: As a prebiotic food, mushrooms induce changes in the intestinal microbiota and contribute to digestive well-being and, in the case of enteropathies, regenerate the gastric and intestinal epithelium. It reduces intestinal inflammation in the case of food intolerances and digestive disorders or allergies. Its silybin content, the main active compound in milk thistle silymarin, stimulates the liver’s regenerative capacity (hepatoprotection) in situations of pharmacological treatment, post-operative, oxidative stress or toxin ingestion. Especially recommended for pets with cognitive and visual impairment (clinical symptoms of cerebral ageing) and neuropathies as it helps the regeneration of nervous tissue. The bioactive components of the mushrooms and their DHA content (docosahexaenoic acid from Schizochytrium spp. microalgae oil), contribute to skin care (dermoprotection) and help to relieve the itching sensation and control clinical signs such as erythema, scaling, thickening and lichenification of the skin of dogs and cats.

Herizumib®:
It is a new technological product developed and patented by Hifas da Terra for HifasVet. This new functional ingredient is the result of fermentation from strain DSM34087 of Hericium erinaceus. It is our own strain isolated in Pontevedra and we have in vitro studies that support its use in our animal mycotherapy food supplements due to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects and therapeutic activity at a neurological and oncological level.

Maitake:
Grifola frondosa (Maitake), is one of the medicinal mushrooms used in traditional medicine as a health tonic due to its adaptogenic quality. Grifola is a prized edible in China and Japan, where it has also been used for medicinal purposes for centuries. It contains polysaccharides such as beta-glucans, grifolan and grifolin, immunomodulators of fungal origin. It also contains lectins, enzymes, provitamin D, vitamins (B group), ergosterol and fatty acids (palmitic, oleic and linoleic) and important minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. Its therapeutic action has been proven to activate metabolism and detoxify the body.

Shiitake:
Lentinula edodes (Shiitake) is known as a delicious edible mushroom and is widely used in gastronomy. However, its content of bioactive substances such as phenolic compounds, immunomodulators, among many others, also make it of great interest in human and animal health care. It contains all the essential amino acids and is notable for its micronutrient content, such as iron, calcium and zinc, B vitamins, vitamin E and provitamin D, unsaturated fatty acids and a large amount of polysaccharides, especially lentinan. This polysaccharide, like PSK, is a β-glucan 1-3 with a strong immunomodulatory effect.

Oyster mushroom:
Pleurotus ostreatus (oyster mushroom) is a medicinal mushroom of scientific interest due to its composition of polysaccharides and other bioactive substances such as dietary fibre, enzymes, phenolic compounds, vitamins D and B and peptides such as ostreolysin, laccase, lectin and minerals such as zinc. It acts on the immune system and as a prebiotic, so its ingredients promote intestinal and digestive health and the immune system.

Milk thistle:
Sylibum marinum (milk thistle) contains silymarin. It is a compound based on flavonoids and other polyphenols with a proven liver-protective effect. Silybin, the main active compound in silymarin, is a powerful antioxidant which neutralises free radicals that threaten liver cells exposed to toxins. It helps regenerate, detoxify and protect the liver (hepatoprotection). It also increases the concentration of glutathione in the liver. High levels of glutathione in the liver increase its capacity for detoxification. In addition, it also contributes to the care and protection of the kidneys (nephroprotection) in dogs and cats

Schizochytrium spp:
Is a microalgae which contains docosahexaenoic acid oil (DHA), a long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid that helps maintain cognitive and visual function in older dogs and cats, supporting healthy brain ageing and visual activity, while contributing to skin care (dermoprotection) and the maintenance of a healthy, shiny coat in animals
